Congratulations to Steve and Marie St. Marie on birth of son

I wanted to take this opportunity to offer congratulations toa childhood friend, Steve St. Marie, and his wife Marie on the birth of their new son, Vincent!  Knowing Steve, it will be interesting to see how this young boy grows up...  Chuckle... Steve and Marie, may your new family be a blessed!
-Mark

"For those who may not have heard, Marie gave birth to our son Vincent Chiu Faat St. Marie at 12:02am on Tuesday, April 12. It went well and both mother and son are doing fine."

Getting a Life, and Writing My Own Shit! [Chuckle]

I just received the comment below.  It is true, I borrowed the one comedic posting about Minnesota from an e-mail forward which I'm sure originated from onion.com, a very entertaining site!  I hope, and did not think, I had implied that I had written it, and I expect the comment was more goodhearted prodding than anything...

You did made me think know that I should update everyone on what is going on with me.

This past Friday I had to postpone the tendon transfer surgery because I came down with a cold and a slight upper respiratory infection on Thursday which may going under anesthesia for a few hours not a good idea.  It is now scheduled for next Wednesday, the 20th.

Today I was filing able to obtain a commitment from Balder USA that they would try to get my chair shipped out on Monday, since tomorrow wasn't overly realistic.  In the coming months I will be collaborating with them on implementing one of my designs for improved chest security bar which can be flipped out-of-the-way when not in use but provides additional security for a quadriplegic when standing in the chair, or when driving, without obstructing arm movements.  We will also be working on improving the knee bolster.  Provided Balder USA's owner and myself are able to come to an agreement, sometime by the end of May or early June I may begin representing Balder's unique, well-designed, feature intensive, wheelchairs in the Midwest.

The order for my 2005 Pontiac Montana minivan with a lowered floor was placed on April 5th.  Right now I'm just waiting for it to be shipped from Braun Entervan in Indiana to Cummings Mobility near me where some final fitting will be completed.  I hope to have van in my possession by sometime late next week or the following.  Then, sometime soon after I will need to deliver it to Cummings mobility, the local EMC hand controls dealer to have my high-tech hand controls console.  I'm told that could take another months to six weeks.  Hopefully it will be ready to go about the time I am healed up from my tendon transfers on my left arm in the mid to late June.

Based on that time, I'm scheduled to fly to Cleveland to continue working with the FES Center there sometime around the week of June 25 for free implant evaluation on my left arm, initial evaluations on my right arm, and possibly even implantation of a new experimental cuff electrode around the nerves that control the right shoulder, pectoral, and upper back muscles.

July 10-15th I will be flying up to Denver to participate in a weeklong summer intensive as class for my MBA (Masters in Business Administration) program at Regis University.  Most likely in late July I would then returned to Cleveland to have the left arm implant surgery, as well as testing on the electrodes in the right shoulder since they will have healed by the time.
